In addition to flesh-and-blood friends, I have been comforted by the writings of like-minded "friends" on the Interwebs, whose ways with language far surpass my own. I thereby introduce you to two of my current favorites: Writing Our Way Home (Twitter name = @fiona_robyn) and Hannah Stephenson (Twitter name = @thestorialist). Fiona's musings on vulnerability and writing strike me at my core, unraveling me and putting me back together simultaneously. Hannah's poems -- particularly "The Opposite of Road Rage" and "Saw This and Thought of You" -- masterfully describe the simplest of things in such a way that they evoke the most powerful of emotions and encourage me to become a better version of myself. Both of them encourage me to become a better writer, and they are my 46th and 47th reminders to be grateful and humble along the way.
Finally, I have found a peace that is purely miraculous to me. It's long overdue and still in relatively short supply, but I am grateful for and humbled by it, as it is but two short days away from the return of He Who Is In Personal Crisis. Of course, I would love to see him, but I'm finished wanting and through with suffering. If he allows me to be a part of his life upon that return, I will welcome that development. If he doesn't, I will survive it. The trick, of course, is to embrace whatever happens with open arms; not to run to him, begging and pleading or to turn my back on him, angry for what he's put me through or fearful of pain that . It is merely to create my own happiness and to accept what happens. And that, my friends, is reminder #48.
Have a lovely, relaxing week.
