#96 - A chance to get out of the office and into the 'fresh' air for an hour. It was highly unusual and much appreciated!
#97 - Dinner with one of my old bosses tonight, who I haven't seen in over a year. At her request!
#98 - Spending a lovely evening last night with a friend of mine who's going through an incredibly difficult time. We talked, shared a meal, played with the kids and were productive. All in all, a perfect night. And her strength during this ridiculously hard time is inspiring to me.
#99 - It's Thursday, which means a new Sugar column!
#100 - My newest reading material, which is already teaching me more than I will ever be able to share: How to Improve Your Marriage Without Talking About It by Patricia Love and Steve Stosny. The gist of it is this: scientifically and statistically, most women's greatest weakness = fear, while most men's greatest weakness = shame. We're motivated by completely different things, which explains the conflict in most marriages. Hint: talking about it actually makes it worse, because women typically instigate the conversation to feel comforted/have their needs met, but talking about the inadequacies of the relationship makes men feel shame and, therefore, withdraw further. I definitely need to be reading this at this moment...
Hope each of you is having a good week,
Me
