Every morning when I arrive at the office I check to see just how many of you have chosen to join me on this blog the day before. I'm humbled by this knowledge (though I don't mean to suggest there are legions of you!), but I realize your presence has nothing to do with my writing prowess and everything to do with the focus of this project. I believe every reader of mine values gratitude and humility, and I'm proud of that.
That's why I'm hoping you'll join me on this project.
I would love to spend the next nine months featuring one guest blogger a week. I don't presume that my experiences trying to find gratitude and humility in the midst of difficult circumstances are unique, inherently powerful or instructive. I'd love to hear what you guys/gals have to say about your own experiences. What are you grateful for? What are you humbled by? For what in your everyday life do you take stock and give thanks?
I am, therefore, reaching out to each of you to ask you whether you might want to help me shape the mission and vision of this blog/project. I'll still come up with my own 500 reasons to take stock and give thanks in 365 days, but I also want to use the space to here to feature your stories, reminders and experiences. I want others to see that this project and its ramifications are not limited to me; they can -- and, in my opinion, should -- be valued by every one of us.
Please let me know (either in the Comments section or via Twitter) if you're interested in using this space to expound upon your own reasons to take stock and give thanks. It can be in any format you'd like (in fact, the more variety, the better!) -- a poem, a story, a list, etc., and it can be on any topic whatsoever. You're welcome to sign your own name or remain publicly anonymous.
I would love for you to join me in this project. I deeply believe in it, and I am consistently humbled by and grateful for the writing of others (#105). That's why I frequently quote their work here!
Will you share your experiences with the world?
